March 23rd

The word for today was WINDY! The winds out of the south were insane, and made it impossible to do any video taping. They also made it quite difficult to take pictures. Here, Colin poses in front of the monster storm that rolled through Kingfisher. We made the decision not to chase this storm, and to instead focus on the smaller LP storms just west of OKC.

Nice double rainbow, with the Kingfisher storm in the background. We were just north of El Reno.

This was shot looking West towards the setting sun. There was a whole mess of small LP storms struggling to sustain an organized updraft. The LP in the middle here had a nice base and meso for a while, but eventually faded away.

Same storm as before, but you can start to see a nice RFD notch coming around. This would eventually tear the storm apart.

A bit further north from El Reno. We were losing our light quickly, so decided to get a few scenic shots in. This again is the storm that had gone through Kingfisher earlier in the day, and was now probably over I35 north of OKC.

We were sandwhiched between a couple of strengthening cells here, and only had a few minutes to shoot. Managed to get this one bolt, looking to the north.

This was one of the more interesting features of the day. We had positioned ourselves just north of Purcell, along I35. A storm was approaching from our West, and this wall cloud like feature starting showing up in the city lights. It seemed to be rotating. In the next few frames, the storm seems to become outflow dominate, and a shelf cloud quickly forms.
