March 23rd
Zack Biggs, Colin Miller and myself chase storms in Central Oklahoma, near Oklahoma City.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Left Dallas with my friends Colin and Zack around 2 pm. Our intial target was just west of Oklahoma City, where we believed the best instability to be. We decided to take Highway 9 to get around OKC. We started seeing towers to our NW, and this storm eventually went on to be the large Kingfisher storm. We eventually ended up near El Reno, and were able to chase several small and picturesque storms trying to form along highway 81 North of El Reno.
After dark, the lightning picked up pretty good and we were able to get a few good pictures as we headed back towards OKC along highway 3. All in all a very funy chase.
