Justin, Zack and I chased storms in Central and Northern Oklahoma on this day. Our initial target was around Lawton, or points further West. While on the road, we decided to head up all the way to OKC, as the better conditions were there. We stopped for a quick bite to eat in Norman, with a nice cu field setting up overhead. While we ate, the cu field in the Norman area died, and cells started firing near the Lawton area. We made the decision to head SW and try to intercept anything that looked strong. We ended up on a left splitting supercell near Anadarko. We stayed on this cell for quite some time, and it never really produced much during the daylight hours. However, the cell exploded close to dark due to the temperature dropping. The cell was able to tap into the richer surface moisture. We observed several nice wall clouds and lowerings NW of Enid. We again intercepted the cell near I35 north of Tonkawa.
